Dog Walking & Wildlife
Over the past 20 years Otterfalls has planted small woodland areas with manageable and mowed pathways especially for walking of our guests dogs. Totally away from urban noise and pollution and it is one of our former dog walking guests that applied the “Heaven in Devon” phrase which we have since used to indentify the peace and tranquility offered to the guests who stay with us.
Providing you have control over your pet we encourage off the lead walking as some of the photos illustrate with our Dalamation “Saffy” and Jack Russell “Alfie” and if you take the trail all the way to the river Otter you will have covered circa two miles.
In addition to our own 120 acres there are many footpaths and bridle paths which connect with Otterfalls and there are some lovely walks with views on Luppitt Common which as “Commeners” we can freely use.
In this oasis of calm and with our fields managed in as green away as possible we are spoilt by the wide variety of water birds and other animals and insects. We have within our boundaries Roe deer, badgers, foxes, squirrels, rabbits, and many other smaller animals. Recently a Otter has been spotted by our river bank.
Amongst our many returning and regular guests are a number of “twitters” who have been surprised by the large number and varieties of British birds located in this serene location.
