Otterfalls caters for a wide range of fishing enthusiasts and has the benefit of three lakes around which are situated our thirteen Lodges.
The lakes are fed from spring water rising from our own lands which gives us complete control on what is essentially drinking water quality. They were originally constructed over 30 years ago.
Under Otterfalls ownership they were enlarged, landscaped with islands formed on the top, our smallest lake, and on the lower lake, the largest, to encourage water birds nesting. The water falls were built in 1993 to increase water aeration and as a result we do not suffer from pond weed which is much evidence in the west of England. There is a broad range of natural feed. The Lakes cover some 7 acres.
At the top lake, which has Falls lodges (3-6), are found our largest fish with many varieties of Carp from mirror, common and ghost up to 27lbs. Also located here are very large bream, tench, rudd, roach & perch and even golden orfe.
The middle and lower lakes were originally for rainbow trout and some ‘monsters’ still remain. However over the past 12 years the lakes fry from the top has seeded these and excellent fishing with fish up to 12 lbs is quite common. Five years ago we introduced a quantity of 2 lb size carp on the lower lake which have grown to provide excellent sport at 8-10lbs.
Falls Lodges 1 & 2 are on the middle lake and it is possible to fish immediately in front of your lodge providing you are a holiday guest in there. similar fish as the top lake with eels also to be found.
Otter Island lodge 1-3 are located on the lowest lake on the southern shore and to the north side are Lakeside Lodge 1-3 & Little Lodge( the site map identifies the lodge positions)
We maintain an exclusive policy of allowing only our residents to fish at Otterfalls.
