Enjoy fresh water coarse fishing on our private, relaxing and naturally picturesque lakes. Otter Falls offers an exceptional, all round fishing experience, and boasts the ideal setting for the perfect coarse fishing trip. Whether you’re experienced in specimen fishing, an angler looking for a challenge, or a complete novice, our 3 lakes have been stocked with a variety of fish, to suit any skill level.
Fishing at Otter Falls is reserved exclusively for our guests and has the added benefit of three lakes to fish from, fed entirely from natural springs rising on the estate. So we have complete control over the quality of the water, fish varieties and stock levels.
Originally constructed over 30 years ago, our three lakes span over seven acres and have been enlarged and beautifully landscaped with islands to encourage water birds to nest. Man-made waterfalls increase water aeration so there’s no pond weed to get your line tangled in.
Make sure to enjoy all of our on-site facilities and amenities when fishing on any of our incredible lakes. This includes but is certainly not limited to, the ‘Tickled Trout’, a family ran on-site bar & bistro. You can even order your food to go, so you’re not missing any ‘bites’ whilst enjoying yours!
If you’re experienced in specimen fishing, then you’ll want to know which one of our lakes has the largest fish. You’ll find our largest fish in our top lake with Carp varieties such as mirror, common and ghost up to 27lbs. Our top lake also has very large bream, tench, rudd, roach, perch and even golden orfe!
The middle and lower lakes were originally for rainbow trout and some ‘monsters’ still remain. However, over the past 12 years, fry from the top lakes have seeded and excellent fishing with fish up to 12 lbs is not unusual. Five years ago, we introduced a good quantity of 2lb carp on the lower lake, which have grown to provide excellent sport at 8-10lbs.
